Description: A synthetic rubber with great mechanical and durability properties. Butyl rubber sheet, a synthetic elastomer (rubber) produced by copolymerizing isobutylene with isoprene.  Butyl Rubber can be used on work tables, flooring, playgrounds, belts and other butyl rubber sheet applications that require a isobutylene rubber. With a high resistance to chemicals and low permeability to gases. Its permeability to air is 70% better than that of natural rubber and for this reason is superior for tire tubes and tubeless tire inner liners. 

Butyl Rubber is sometime called SBR rubber or iso rubber ... although the rubber is not exactly the same composition as Butyl rubber.
